Willow Spheres:
Creek Restoration
This is a permanent restoration based environmental art installation to help reduce sediment and restore the native creek habitat of the San Geronimo Creek Watershed.
The reduction in sediments is expected to prevent accumulation of imbedding sediments in the important downstream fisheries habitat of Lagunitas Creek.
Fourth grade children from Brookside Elementary created and installed twenty five willow spheres made from dormant native willow plantings.
Fourth grade students collaborate to create willow spheres, using dormant willow cuttings and bio-degradable twine.
